Your site will be a living and breathing community. With some time, your site will be THE site of your particular niche.
John Blogger had a site. It was a WordPress blog on the subject of hunting. It was doing ok, but John was not posting like he should. John came to tf-Media, we created a community for John's hunting site. Suddenly John tells his hunting buddies and they all sign up. They all start discussing things in the forums, and blogging and posting hunting photos, uploading videos and really buzzing around.
Suddenly, John didn't have to write so much. John included some local outdoors news feeds. After a while, more people from the general public were posting comments. And better yet, other people were signing up and using the site.
Six months later, John had a living and breathing site that had legs. He didn't have to do much at all, even though he continued to blog. He was making money on his Adsense ads, his traffic had doubled and all the while, he continued to push the site. Eventually, John was able to sell some ad space to a few resorts in his area. He also made a few bucks with Adsense and some affiliate programs. Enough to cover his $100 a month.
Doesn't seem like a huge success, but it is. John is providing a service to all of his hunting buddies and other people on the web. By providing a community where everyone can join in, John has positioned himself as the Hunting Expert and has gotten several freebies due to his site. People have asked him to review their resorts. Discounts abound.
The site is paying for itself, he's looked up to in his niche, and he's getting free stuff. To me, that is great success!!
Full Service Package
tf-Media takes pride in being very reasonable, we charge $500 to setup a site for you and then $100 a month thereafter.
The monthly fee covers hosting, technical support, training, search engine optimization, upgrades, maintenance, on-going configuration, etc.
Typically, once we receive the setup fee and first month's payment, we will get your site up within 7 days.
Basic Site Package
If you only want us to build the site for you, we charge a flat rate of $950. This fee doesn't provide any ongoing support, hosting, maintenance, or search engine optimization. All of the site maintenance is left up to you. We build the site, setup hosting, install all modules and deliver it to you upon receipt of full payment. We require half up front, and half upon delivery.
Social Network Assistance
Already have a social network? Our Social Network Assistance service is an excellent way to get the traffic you need to make your social network a success. We have years of experience creating social networks and getting them to rank well on the search engines. Our Social Network Assistance service starts at $50 an hour. We will provide you with a Community Manager who you can contact to get the help you need.
You have full control of what information your users are allowed to enter into their profile. For instance if you want people to enter their website, company name, state, job title, etc. you can allow them to do so.
You can also have them select options from a list, free form text boxes and more. By default, all of our users can upload their photo. People love to see their faces! And we also feature a user list so people can see at a glance who is a member of a specific site.
Each user on the site has a different set of permissions, or roles. For instance people just surfing by are called anonomous users. They can read articles, view all content, images, audio and video, and they can leave comments on the site. But that's it.
The role of authenticated user, is someone who has actually gone ahead and signed up. And when you sign up, you are sent a confirmation email. This ensures that people are using real email addresses and combats automated spam.
When people are authenticated they may have more access than anonomous users. You can control what you services and features you want them to see. We'll help you with this.
Then there is the super user, this is only for high tech users. This is to make changes to the site. Super user can only be assigned by the admin of the site.
The final user role we offer is admin. Admin is the god-account. This account has control over everything and hands out everything. Typically, only tf-Media employees have access to the admin account. This ensures that changes are only made by qualified individuals.
We can also create custom user roles as necessary.
Anyone can leave comments on tf-Media sites.
But the catch is, comments are not displayed on the site until they are moderated. They are held in an approval queue until the owner of the site or a super user approves them. Once they are approved they appear on the site.
Comments are also scanned by our spam modules. This looks for any tell-tale signs of spam. This is a great feature and will save you time by eliminating the obvious spam comments. So, in the end, the only comments you need to approve are real comments typed by a human.
Once you decide to go with tf-Media, we will build you a site from scratch. We will also host the site for you. We have a particular hosting company that we work with that is extremely reliable. If you don't trust us, you can get your own hosting plan, etc. But we do only use one hosting provider. So it doesn't matter to us whether it's in your name or ours, but we do have certain requirements...and our hosting plan works beautifully for our needs.
We do not integrate these sites into your existing site. These are stand alone sites, that can link back and forth with your current sites, but they are a completely separate entity.
All of our hosting fees are included into the monthly price of the community.
We work with you to find a nice tight niche for your community. You want to come up with something that people are passionate about. Something that people can chat about and meet others who are interested in the same things.
Once you've picked your niche, you need to decide on what you want to name your community and pick a URL. Once that happens, then we find a template for your site and decide on what features you will need. Then we build your neighborhood, typically 3 days is all we need. Once it's built you will be given your login information as well as instructions on what to do next.
We then post as much as we can and get things rolling. After 3 months, we begin submitting it to the search engines and blog directories. And we really market the heck out of it. We post links all over the internet as well as exchanging links with others in your particular niche.
Eventually with people signing up and contributing as well as up-to-the-minute news feeds, your site will eventually "get legs." Eventually everything will be buzzing with activity, and you shouldn't have to post much at all.
Once things are running smoothly, you can find some advertisers for your site. In the meantime we'll use Yahoo or Google ads as well as any other affiliate ads that make sense. The final result will be a living-breathing community that people find useful as well as a great advertising site that should make a decent amount monthly.
Well in the past, websites were built as an online business card. Here's my information, here's how to get a hold of me, here's what I do...me, me, me.
Now days, nobody cares about...me. They care about sharing their opinion, being able to participate and tell everyone about themselves.
tf-Media is creating tools to make it possible for people to reach out and meet other people and share ideas, ask questions and get involved...just like in a local neighborhood or community. It's an online meeting ground and storage area for information on a particular topic or niche. A place where you can ask questions, talk, watch or listen to media, read news, etc. related to your topic.
Online communities are a very powerful thing. Look at the success of Flickr, Youtube, Myspace, Facebook
, Friendster, etc. It's not the sites that are great, it's the people in each community that makes them great.
Social networking and custom news feeds are going to take over our lives. Just think if you can just get the information that you're interested in only, without all of the other fluff. tf-Media is offering that to you, in the form of community sites.
The reason we charge a monthly fee, is because your site is alive. We could charge a one time fee, build your site and let you fend for yourself. But you'd have a tough time being successful. We ensure that your site is the best it can be.
We provide you with a dedicated community manager who will hold your hand along the way to answer all of your questions, whether they are technical or not. We also teach you everything you need to know to make your community a success.
We optimize your site for your particular niche. We submit your site to all of the major search engines as well as every cutting-edge blog directory out there. We also use aggressive linking techniques which will help your site rank well on the search engines.
We are experts at marketing websites. If you wish, we will help buy some traffic to your site. We are also experts at using advertising on sites. So with our help, you should easily be able to exceed the $100 monthly fee in advertising.
We also manage services for you such as, Google analytics, Google sitemaps, snap, mybloglog, technorati, digg, sitemeter, as well as several other cutting edge social networking techniques.
We provide you with hosting, technical support, upgrades, as well as knowledge of the latest in web technology. We keep our finger on the pulse of the web, so you don't have to.
tf-Media uses a content management system called Drupal. Drupal is an open source system. It is free to the public.
We find that Drupal fits our needs perfectly as well as providing beautiful templates and features that provide us the functionality to make our sites a success.
Feel free to go to Drupal's website to learn more about it. Heck, you may even be able to build the site yourself.
A blog is a website. An online journal in reverse chronological order.
Blogs are extremely loved by the search engines. The reason is, blogs are constantly changing. The search engines love fresh, original and updated content.
At tf-Media all of our community sites involve blogging in one way or another. You've probably heard your teenager talk about a blog, now you can have one and you can give one to anyone else you wish...for free.
Our platform allows you to get visitors to sign up and get their own blog. Everyone can share their ideas, pictures, video and audio on their blog.
It's an extremely exciting thing!
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. Basically, it’s just a feed of information that people can subscribe to. By default, tf-Media creates an RSS feed for every post and every comment on your site. Meaning if someone puts a comment on your blog, they can add the feed to their feed reader and they’ll be notified on any activity on their comment.
The great thing about RSS feeds, is that now days email clients are including feed readers, so you can add your favorite RSS feed to your email client and your feeds come in just like email.
Basically, a feed just keeps you notified when a site changes, without you actually having to go to that site. If your a smart blogger, you don’t include the full article in your RSS feeds, you do just a title and a teaser. That way, interested readers have to go to your site to read the full article.
Some advertising programs are now allowing advertising within an RSS feed.
Also the other great advantage to a feed, is you can import stuff right into your site via an RSS Feed. tf-Media does that with all of our sites, feed the latest headlines right onto the site, free content.
RSS feeds are great! You’re definitely going to be seeing a lot of exciting stuff happening with RSS in the future.
All of the content on the site is yours. The URL is yours. The site is yours.
At the end of the contract, if you wish to go your own way...you are welcome to do so. Everything will go with you.
However, it is your responsibility to move all content and the site to it's new location. We can assist you with that, however, we do charge a fee for moving sites.
Feel free to go and learn a content management system yourself. There are plenty of open source options out there. We highly recommend Drupal, that is the platform tf-Media uses for all of our sites. You can even use us as consultants if you wish. Our goal is to help everyone create the community neighborhood they need.
Yeah, we're probably losing business by telling you that, but we feel that being honest and letting you know there is free stuff out there is our duty. It does take some time to learn how to setup and you do need some skills, but it's not rocket science. If you don't want to spend the time learning or trying to do it yourself, please use our service.
Our community sites are templated sites with some customizations. But the great thing about that is, they are extremely usable, clean, and tested sites. Drupal is a very stable platform.
The look and feel will be unique because of the custom features and the content of your site.
So if you're looking for something really flashy and unique, we may not be for you. But if you want something that will be very user friendly and a value to your community...we may be able to help you.
Please take a look at some of the sites we built in our portfolio, you can also view available themes at Drupal.org. You'll find quite a few themes, all of them very professional and functional.
We'll make sure they do.
By default our software Drupal is very search engine friendly. Pair that with fresh, original content and the buzzing of the community. Your site will do well on the search engines.
All of our sites include meta tags and Technorati tags for all content. We also install a sitemap module which allows the search engines to crawl your site more easily. We also submit your site to hundreds of search engines and blog directories. Typically, this happens after you have at least 3 months worth of content and activity on your site.
We like to trade links with other high ranking niche sites. We also place your link on other blogs, forums and sites to help generate traffic. You can also do some offline things to help your site, such as press release, launch party, include URL on business cards, give-aways, etc.
Also, by joining tf-Media you get the advantage of link power from all of our client sites. Each community site becomes part of our network of linked sites.
There is always the option of buying traffic to your site. If you wish to spend the money tf-Media will manage an Adwords campaign for you to help drive traffic to your site. With Adwords you pay per visitor. This works particularly well with affiliate advertising programs, but it does cost money.
Once your site is up for a while, you can ad some advertising. Google Adsense, Yahoo Publisher Network, Auction Ads, Amazon, and Text Link Ads are great for getting paid per click.
We will also help you find some affiliate advertising programs in your niche to help you earn money from your site. You can also have donation buttons if you wish.
Once you get some traffic, you can sell advertising space to business and sites in your niche. With our help, and some time you should easily be able to recoup your $100 monthly fee in advertising.
